Tracy,

I received your email regarding an old yearbook, but I really wouldn't know how to help you except you might want to call Amphi H.S. and ask them.  Also, I'll send copy of your email and my response to a couple of people who I think might be able to help.  One is our graduating year's contact...he's been wonderful keeping all of us who graduated in 62' informed, and another is one of my classmates who teaches at Amphi and has for years.

By the way...how did you end up with my email address?

Gail Lyons

I'm looking for a 1950 or 1951 Amphitheater Yearbook - I'm not sure which year - it was dedicated to a man by the name of BROTHERTON. His son is a friend of mine and he has always talked about getting a copy as he has never seen it.

I know you graduated in 1962, but I really don't know where else to begin.  I'm hoping that you might be able to lead me to someone that can help.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Thank you for any help you might be able to offer.

Sincerely,

Tracey Hurst

Charlie,

Thanks for the quick response.  I'll check it out asap.  We are now living in Las Vegas, but that is an easy trip and I'm hoping to be able to attend.  I attended Catalina for my Jr. High and first two years of H.S., and am planning on attending their reunion also.  Unfortunately, it is the same weekend as the Amphi reunion.  Maybe I'll be able to attend at least one
function of both.

I'll keep in touch if I have any trouble accessing the information.

Thanks again,

Gail

Gail,

Yes, we are having a 40th reunion.  October 11, 12, 13, 2002.  You can go to the web page to get a little more info:

http://technidigm.org/amphi62.htm

Also, there are links to the ad hoc reunion committee and to the organizing company, Southwest Reunion Planners, so it should be easy to get the registration materials as soon as you provide an address.

You can also send update info materials to Southwest Reunion Planners (part of the reunion registration packet that they provide) and also to me, as indicated on the web page.

If you have trouble or can not access the web page, just send an email with your address to <SWREUNIONs at aol.com>, included as an addressee in this email.  They have already started mailing registration packets to people.  I will be glad to help you with any of this, of course.

Since you probably still live in the Nogales area, I hope you can come to the reunion activities!

Regards,
Charlie

Charlie,

I haven't heard anything about Amphi's 40th class reunion.  Do you know if we are having one?

Thanks,

Gail,

---

I will place your note on the class web site and will also add your name to the reunion40 mail list to keep you informed of organizational activities.  Please feel free to join in with everyone.  At this point we are mostly collecting information and thinking about all of this.  Any supportive initiatives and contributions are greatly appreciated.  Perhaps some of the class members will want to take a side trip to shop in Nogales, and you can provide suggestions (or warnings).

In any case, we will all be richer for having made the trip back down memory lane, perhaps somewhat amused as who we were, what we did, checking out old the friends and places with curiosity and even a little amusement with ourselves for having been so young and restless, or whatever we were.  We are now older and wiser, but it still seems almost as close as yesterday, with all the emotions of our youthful hearts resurrecting themselves from their dormancy.   Making these connections once again helps to remind us that we are not ever alone and always will have friends who are concerned and interested in how we are and how things are going.

Charlie,
Thank you for keeping me informed with the information from Amphi's class of 62.  Although I transferred from Catalina to Amphi in my sophomore year, I was an AAU swimmer and spent most of my hours out of school working out with the YMCA girls swim team, and just never got involved with anything going on at school. My only really close friend from Amphi was -------------, and that friendship didn't get strong until after we graduated.

I am currently living in Nogales, and although I work with my husband in our business and have limited free time, I would consider doing some work on the reunion just to get to know some of our class mates and feel more connected.  Actually, my involvement would really depend on the request and my
availability, but I would at least like to be considered.

The only other classmate I have been in contact with on a very limited basis, is John Leiber.  I saw him last at his nieces wedding a couple of years ago.  He is still living at the same home on Steam Pump Ranch with his wife Cheryl and their children....or at least the those who are still at home. He is an attorney in Tucson, but I'm not sure if he is still practicing full time.

Thanks again for keeping me informed, and I will continue to look forward to the updates.

Gail (Binnion) Lyons
