Hi all,

Just checking in with all of you.  I'm still working, and will have 21 years with the Arizona Department of Corrections in July.  Really looking forward to eventual retirement.

We've had quite a difficult time since our 60th birthday party.  Right after the party, Chuck had to have three stents put in his heart, making a total of four.  October 2005, I dislocated my elbow, and had to have surgery.   My sister had a recurrence of her breast cancer in the Spring of 2006.  She underwent radiation treatments, and so far so good.  October 20, 2006, my mother passed away.

Chuck and I are doing well now.  He has his good days and his difficult ones.  We are enjoying each and every day of our lives, with our children, grandchildren and our great granddaughter.    Her name is Alixis Marie.  She is now 3 years old and such a joy.  I have a blast with her.  There's nothing that makes you feel your age more than playing with a three year old.  She is so full of energy, and has quite an imagination.  She really tuckers me out, but it's such fun playing with her.  It's wonderful.

I'm looking forward to October and our 45th Reunion.  It's hard to imagine its already been 45 years.

See you all in October.  I would love to be able to help with some of the planning.  Let me know what kind of help you could use, and I will certainly do what I can to help.

Well, a little biographical information to get started.   I have been married 41 years to my wonderful husband Chuck (May 12, 1963).  We lived in Washington State the first year of our marriage then returned to Tucson until 1987, then we bought 10 acres and moved North of Tucson.  I'd tell you a city except we don't live in a city or town, just out in the middle of the desert.  It's beautiful and peaceful here, and we love it.    Our most recent adventure is going to the races and watching our two youngest sons Richard and Frank driving their factory stock race cars.

We have three sons Chuck, Jr. (will be 40 Oct. 31), Richard 38 (Oct. 15) and Frank 36 (Oct. 10).  We have five Grandchildren Lisa Marie - 20, Chuck, III - 18, Amanda & Zane, 16 year old twins, and Ariel - 13.  We became the proud Great Grandparents of our Great Granddaughter Alixis Marie Padilla.  She had her first birthday September 6.

I have worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections for the past 18 years.  I work at the newest of the two Florence Complexes.  Our son Richard has worked for the Department for 10 years and has been a K-9 officer for 6 years, also at the Florence complex.  I hope to retire in 2006.

We will only be able to attend the 60th birthday dinner at the Hometown Buffet.  As a result of a serious back injury, my husband is unable to walk or sit extended periods of time, which excludes the tour, football game and picnic.

I'm anxious to see everyone Saturday, it's been such a long time.

Virginia
